Symphony.dB Namespace > DBAccess Class : GenericFileWrite Method
The channel number.
The data area to store into the database table.
Update the last located record in the database table.
Syntax
public static int GenericFileWrite( 
   int channel,
   out string dataArea
)

Parameters

channel
The channel number.
dataArea
The data area to store into the database table.

Return Value

A value of zero (0) is success otherwise an error code.
Remarks
Enables file style managment of a database table. The Generic* methods allow easy migraiton from ISAM style processing to database managment within your application. The GenericFileWrite allows you to map the storeing of data to the database table. The Symphny.dB framework optimises the update command sent to the database and will only update columns/fields that have been modified by the application.
